At The Monument of Vakhtang Gorgasali!

Today [On 3rd Nov 2016, Thursday] we explored the capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi. We have started from the Monument of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, who was a significant ruler in 5th century and a popular historic personality and is celebrated all across the country.

While we were at the monument discussing about Georgian Kings, Irakli started explaining about another great King named "David IV". I noticed his eyes were rolling with Proud and his words were gushing from his soul, while he was portraying David-IV as the Golden Era Ruler of Georgia! Let me share few basic information about The Great King David IV:

"David IV" of Georgia, also known as David the Builder (1073 -1125) of the Bagrationi dynasty was a king of Georgia from 1089 until his death in 1125. He is considered as the greatest and most successful Georgian ruler in history, who succeeded in driving the Seljuk Turks out of the country and winning the major battle of Didgori in 1121.

His reforms with the army and administration enabled him to reunite the country and bring most of the lands of the Caucasus under Georgia's control. On the other hand he was a friend of the church and a notable promoter of Christian culture, who was canonized by the Georgian Orthodox Church.
