Creating Awareness on Protecting the Zoo-Animals:

A significant flood occurred in the Vere River valley in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, on the night of 13 to 14 June 2015. It resulted in at least 20 human deaths and struck the Tbilisi Zoo, leaving half of its animal inhabitants either dead or on the loose.

The Tbilisi Zoo lost more than 300 animals, nearly half of its inhabitants: the majority were killed by flooding. Several surviving inhabitants of the zoo—a hippopotamus, big cats, wolves, bears, and hyenas—escaped from destroyed pens and cages to the streets of Tbilisi and a police unit was employed to round them up.

Some were killed, others were recaptured and brought back to the zoo. A media ran footage has broadcast-ed, the pathos of an escaped hippo, which was making its way to flooded Heroes' Square, one of Tbilisi's major roadway hubs, where it was subdued with a tranquilizer gun!

It is not only the responsibility of the government to take care of the citizens of the country but also to take care of the animals living in the country.
On the other hand, its also the responsibility of every individual to remind the local authorities to take the precautionary measures based on Weather Forecast to protect our animals, which also have the similar rights for existence!

We all prefer to visit the zoo when everything is fine and forget the creatures over there when things go wrong! Government can accomplish its missions and achieve its visions only with the support of the public.

Therefore let us take an oath today to remind
our local authorities and if possible to provide all
kinds of assistance to the authorities in-order
to take precautionary measures to protect our
animals before the strike of natural calamities based on the various forecasts provided by the Disaster Management Information System!
