My Visit to Metekhi Church!

After viewing the statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali and discussing about the great rulers of Georgia, Irakli and me entered the Metekhi church. Metekhi is a historic neighborhood of Tbilisi, Georgia, located on the elevated cliff that overlooks the Mtkvari river.

I observed inside the church few women were standing around a table on which the scripture was placed and singing the hymns in Georgian Language and all of them are very old except only one girl, who was young, beautiful and singing the hymns facing my direction.

Naturally I started keenly watching the face expressions of that girl for few minutes together while she was singing the hymns in a magical Georgian voice, which was so rhythmic, and a nice fragrant inside the church altogether taken my soul to a different world and I become unaware of where I'm standing!

Thinking that I admire her, the young girl has smiled to herself for few moments with great pride about her age and beauty and commented about me to other old women in her group that I'm closely watching her!

But the other women were not in a mood to look at me or to show interest towards her comments instead they were too busy with their hymns. However Irakli soon grasped what was happening over there and smiled at me; a funny smile! I managed to inform him that the young girl makes fun of me as I'm a foreigner!!
